VAL KILMER FANS!

Hey all,

If you’re interested, the wonderful people over at vkn.com have posted an article that Sharon Holmes and I did recently. Some of you have been asking about it and here it is. It is in the December issue of their newsletter. I know that many of you are Val Kilmer fans and I think you will have lots of good reading from the devoted people who post over there.

Also! Very, very soon, I want to give you a heads up with changes coming on the official Val Kilmer site that is currently in the works. It’s an all new design and content scheduled to be up and running before the end of this month. The link is valkilmer.com and is also listed at the side of this blog. This one, I’m told, promises to be a glimpse into the creativity of the actor and if it in anyway reflects what I witnessed on the set of Wonderland, then we are all in for a treat.

Thanks again to everyone at VKN!

Dawn

Hey Dawn! It’s Ivan. I’m a 20-year-old boy from Spain and I just want to tell you that I’m a huge fan of Kate Bosworth (that’s why I have this site on her, lol) and that I went to the cinema to see Wonderland just because of her ( i know…). Buf after the picture ended, I was amazed at what you lived with John. Really. It was quite exciting and scary at the same time. I just want to say that I think you’re such a brave and wonderful woman and I felt your own emotions through Kate’s performance. I’ve also checked out this site and it’s a very very very interesting one. I’ll be around here for some time ;) Thanks to Kate for making me watch the movie and learn more about you!

I think I’m gonna post the link to VKN.com’s article on the site. thanks for reading dawn. I wish you the best… ;)

    Hello Ivan,

Soooo good to hear from a Kate fan. She is an actress to keep your eye on, and I don’t just mean because she is beautiful. I mean because she is also extremely talented and one of the sweetest people you would ever want to meet. I was so blessed to have someone like her play my character in the film Wonderland. She is also a great supporter of my book! Thanks for posting the VKN article. I will check out your site too!

    Blessings,

    Dawn

I have a question regarding the movie….Why is it the movie didn’t get a very wide release? I mean there were stories in the magazines before it even came out ,there was a premier at the Toronto film festival, a premier of it in Hollywood, then harldly no release of the film on opening day. Why was this?
I myself ended up driving about 80 miles to find a theatre that it was showing in.
I just can’t understand why this was as good as the movie was.

    Hi Carrie,

Sorry, I do recognize your post from an earlier thread, but I got too busy with the holidays and I realize I missed answering you.

I know! I was also very, very surprised! I really don’t know, except Lions Gate was using a marketing technique that they use for many of their independent movies. They promote it and then present it with a test audience first. The critics were very harsh too. I spoke to James Cox, the director, tonight and he reminded me that making a movie about Wonderland was very edgy and a big risk!

I’m sorry, I just think that with all the mixed press, Lions Gate decided they would make more money with a DVD. Wow! Eighty miles. Again, Sorry.

No reason for you to apoligize for the movie not getting a wider release as I know it’s not your fault.
Anyway…I look forward to reading your book when it comes out.
    Thanks,
    Carrie

Hi Dawn I saw the movie Wonderland it reminded me of how a person manipulates and makes the person theyre controlling feel sorry and the need to help and protect them cause eveyone else is out to get them and no one understands them but you I was a young girl who got caught up with the wrong guy who constantly played games I remember being so confused and so alone I never thoght I would leave him but I did I just wished it had been sooner I wasted so much of my life and my childrens on an evil individual and the fact he was their father didnt help gods grace getting older and seeing him for what he was and what I didnt want for us got us out I think its a great thing you are telling this story and that young women are an interest to you because they are the most vurnable target and they need to know to ge out is the best choice and the sooner the better I think its good Val Kilmer is speaking positive for these women in these situations He truly is a talented actor who doesnt I feel get enough credit in hollywood and your right God works wonders in our lives may you continue to be blessed and to be a blessing and help for others
