VOLVO HONORS EVERYDAY HEROS!
Time for me to let you all in on what’s been going on in my life lately. Next Wednesday, April 12th 2006, in New York, Volvo car company is honoring 9 semi-finalists who were nominated on their website as everyday heroes. The categories are environment, quality of life and safety. In a strange turn of events I have been lucky enough to be invited to this wonderful event. The heroes on this year’s list are amazing. I am completely humbled and deeply inspired by these heroes. Please go to Volvo For Life Awards to check out the great job Volvo has done to reward those people who simply try to give back to their communities in gratitude for what they have received in life and/or for simply doing what is “right”.
Remember, this is a yearly event. You also can nominate an everyday hero from your neighborhood. Speak up for someone you know who is doing good works. Say thank you to a real hero!
Blessings,
Dawn
P.S. I promise to post lots of pictures when I return.

Dawn,
I just want to say congratulations!!!!!! You deserve to be honored….You are a hero especially to those women who are looking for help to get away from the bad things that are going on in there lives. I will be sure to check out that site as well. But I wanted to tell you that I think you truly deserve to be honored for all the things you do to help other people deal with something that you yourself have dealt with in the past. Once again Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! You are a hero!!!
Love & Blessings,
Jenny

These Volvo awards are great. The world is full of “everyday heroes” that walk among us without fame or fortune. For every “sports hero” that makes millions of dollars and is a “celebrity”, there are dozens of everyday heroes like Big Rosie and Joe from the snack shop who rescued Dawn from John all those years ago.
It is fantastic to see a program like this !

I hope you had a great time at such a wonderfully important event!! In fact, I think you should be nominated for your courageous efforts and generous contributions to domestic violence and inspiring women that have been through and maybe going through the pits of hell, that you can escape and make a better life.
In my eyes you Dawn, are a winner and hero!!
p.s. Since Mr. Kilmer is one of the many judges, I hope he took the liberty to accompany you to a fine dinner afterwards!!!
You Go Girl!!!!!!

Hello Dawn…I have just become aware of your situation in the 1980s through the movie Wonderland, which I enjoyed. (in a remorse way) I used to live in Hollywood, and I can related to the party/drug atmosphere you went through. I would like to know more about you and your life. When will your book be coming out? Thanks for the info, and I will check back later.
