PRESS RELEASE!!!
MEDALLION PRESS LAUNCHES A NONFICTION LINE!
St. Charles, Illinois—August 1, 2008— Medallion Press, Inc., is pleased to announce the debut of a nonfiction line, with the first title available in stores August 2010. This new imprint will cover areas of motivation and strength, self-help, and autobiographies. This will be the seventh imprint for Medallion Press, adding it to the family of fiction imprints, including the new Medallion Masterpiece Collection, which will unveil its first title in November 2008.
The first release of our nonfiction line will be an autobiographical look at the life of Dawn Schiller, a woman who, as a teenager, became wrapped up in the bizarre life of legendary porn star John Holmes, and the drugs, beatings, and murders that soon consumed her world. In The Road through Wonderland, Dawn will give a recounting of her life, starting with her childhood, leading through her relationship with John Holmes, and through the struggle she encountered to overcome her past. In 2003, Lion’s Gate released the film Wonderland, a look at the life of John Holmes and his connection with the Wonderland Murders. Actor Val Kilmer, who played John, and actress Kate Bosworth, who played Dawn, will both contribute a foreword to the book.

Hey there, Dawn. It’s been awhile. Glad to hear you have a release date for the book (I still get search traffic for Dawn+Schiller+book at my old 8763 Wonderland site); if your sales match or even double or triple the sales that continue to trickle in for “Long Time Money and Lots of Cocaine”—and I believe you will—then you’re going to have a major success on your hands.
Terribly sorry to hear about your daughter’s heartbreaking accident but relieved to read that she is recovering. What is that saying about life (or God, take your pick) never handing us more than we can handle? Sometimes I wonder about the veracity of that statement but, hell, I’m just an aging cynic.
Take care, dear, and drop me an e-mail sometime.

Hey Dawn,
I guess what I find most amazing about this site is the reality of the ‘net and the fact that I can watch a film, then log onto the computer and look up one of the characters. I just saw a doco called “The Real Dirk Diggler: John Holmes” that looks like it might’ve been made a few years ago by English doco makers. I note that you weren’t a part, and Julie St Vincent wore a wig and dark glasses, so perhaps there was some hesitancy. I also note that I don’t blame the participants for being hesitant as there seemed to be a lot of sarcasm from the filmmakers who edited the work to make everyone look ‘dubious’ – especially in the end credits when they showed Misty being paid for being interviewed … in fact they made her look appalling … quite insecure (for all I know she is – but who knows).
Anyway, just wanted to contribute from Australia.

Blixicat

Dear Dawn,
!!
I just wanted you to know I still check out your site. How are you and yours? I see you are having a little trouble with your site. I hope it all gets worked out soon. I hope Jade is still doing fine. Hows Sharon?
My grand-daughter goes into heart surgery Dec. 2nd. Her grand-daddy is in Iraq so this is really difficult for the whole family. Your writings really seem to help me through. I hope you know how much your posts mean to some people, (like me), some would say “pitiful”, but I say THANX.
Keep On Keepin’ on

Hi Marty,
Thanks for letting me know about your grand-daughter. I will keep her in my prayers.
Yes, this site has had some problems because Gloria, my webmaster, passed away suddenly.
Jade is doing wonderfully. Thank you for asking. Now that my site is up again. I will post more and truly appreciate that you find heart in my posts.
Best,
Dawn

Dear Dawn and family,
On this day there are so many things to be thankful for. When you are plucked from the bowels of darkness and see daylight for the first time, you seem to appreciate what is before you,,,but what of the simple, dimmer lights, are we thankful? Look around you, find the light and be thankful, no matter it’s brightness. Sometimes just a glimmer can bring you unbelievable joy.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOURS.

Hi Dawn,
Merry Christmas to you and you family. I wish you all the best in this holiday.
Looking forward to “In The Road through Wonderland”. I gathered that is the title. Cant wait to buy a copy and read about your life. I am close to your age and grew up in the 70’s / 80’s and am very intrigued by its history, especially Hollywood history.
Best wishes,
Frank
